Post Journalism and the Death of the News (2022)

Imagine being able to stay informed without doing the mental gymnastics to determine what ulterior motives are at play. Greed, power, outrage and clickbait. The four riders of the apocalypse.

Waterfall Way (2022)

From the Thora General Store up to Dorrigo Pub. This stretch of the Waterfall Way is a tiny part of the road that connects inland to the coast, but it's the most beautiful and temperamental. Spot the worksite traffic light sets; the rock cages trying to contain the landslides; the slivers of mist at the top of the waterfalls; the Gondwana rainforest to the side; and the pyramid shaped picnic area (that I think they're taking down)

Alcohol is the villain in so many people's stories. This piece foreshadowed a tragic year with death due to alcoholism which gave me the last push to become sober.

Toorminian Rapture (2021)

Toormina is the small coastal town I live and work from. The year I painted this two near biblical events tipped the place upside down.

This picture depicts a tired god sucking on a dart with a dodgy shopping bag covid mask. Gods snatching up the residents who've turned to booze to try and cope with the end of the world by numbing themselves and playing the pokies. Then stuffing them into the medical centre, because in Toormina these buildings are right next to each other. The stairway to heaven goes right through god's chest and into a construction zone out the other side.

The Toormina shopping centre remained under construction for two years as a ferocious hailstorm ripped through smashing everything in sight. Today local cars are still limping around carrying their battles scars.
